Profhilo Bio-Remodelling Treatment for Men

Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid bio-remodelling injectable placed at a small number of set points rather than spread through the face. It is assessed and injected by an SMC-registered doctor.

Abstract macro still life: a large clear droplet spreading slowly across warm neutral stone, standing in for a bio-remodelling hyaluronic acid treatment.

Quick answer

Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid product used for bio-remodelling: it is placed at a small number of defined points and spreads through the tissue plane rather than being shaped like a filler. It targets skin quality and laxity, not contour.

What it is

Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid injectable, but it is not used as a filler. Filler is placed where volume is missing and holds its shape. Profhilo is placed at set anatomical points and diffuses, so it is used where the concern is skin quality and mild laxity across a whole area.

Because it spreads, it is not a way to build a jawline or a cheek. If contour is the concern, filler or a collagen stimulator is the honest answer and your doctor will say so.

Areas and variants

Face
Placed at the standard set of points across the mid and lower face.
Neck
Used where crepey neck skin is the concern, at a separate set of points.
Hands and arms
Selected cases, where skin quality on the back of the hands is the concern.

What it treats

  • Skin laxity that is mild and diffuse rather than localised
  • Crepey skin on the face, neck or hands
  • Dehydrated, dull skin
  • Fine surface lines present at rest

The procedure, step by step

Assessment first: your doctor examines the area, confirms that bio-remodelling rather than filler or toxin is the right approach, and agrees the areas with you.

The skin is cleaned and the injection points are marked. Topical numbing cream may be used.

The product is placed at the defined points with a fine needle. Session length depends on the areas treated and is confirmed by your doctor at consultation.

The area is cleaned and cooled, aftercare is explained and your review is booked.

Results timeline

Bio-remodelling shows nothing useful on the day. The small deposits settle within hours, and what follows is a change in how hydrated and firm the skin looks rather than a change in shape.

The effect builds across the short course and is usually clearest on the neck and the back of the hands, where skin quality shows most. Results vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

Downtime and aftercare

Small raised deposits at each injection point for a few hours, then redness and pinpoint bruising in some people.

Leave the deposits alone rather than massaging them, keep make-up off for twelve hours, and avoid sauna, hot yoga and heavy exercise for twenty-four hours. Contact the clinic if you develop severe pain, blanching of the skin or any change in vision.

Course and maintenance

Bio-remodelling is normally planned as a short course of sessions a few weeks apart, then maintenance. The number of sessions, the interval between them and the maintenance interval are set by your doctor at consultation.

Your own course is set at assessment and reviewed as you go, rather than sold as a fixed package.

What determines the cost

What moves the cost of a Profhilo plan is how many areas are treated, since face, neck and hands are separate sets of points, and whether you are in the initial short course or on maintenance.

How we quote, and why we do not publish prices

Product and provenance

Profhilo is a stabilised hyaluronic acid product used for bio-remodelling. It is placed at set points and spreads through the tissue plane rather than being shaped like a filler.

Products are sourced through official distribution channels and the batch number of every product used is recorded in your notes.

Why patients choose Hisential for this

  • Every Profhilo session is injected by an SMC-registered doctor, not delegated.
  • If your concern turns out to be contour rather than skin quality, we will tell you that bio-remodelling is the wrong treatment for it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers, written by our clinical team. Tap any question for its direct permalink, or reach out to your Personal Concierge for anything else.

  1. Is Profhilo a filler?

It is a hyaluronic acid product, but it is not used to add volume or change contour. It is placed at set points and spreads through the tissue to work on skin quality and laxity.

  2. Will it change the shape of my face?

No. If contour is what you want changed, filler or a collagen stimulator is the relevant treatment and your doctor will discuss that instead.

  3. How many sessions?

Bio-remodelling is normally a short course, then maintenance. Your doctor sets the course at assessment.

  4. What is the downtime?

Small raised areas at the injection points that settle within hours, and bruising in some people.

  5. What are the risks and side effects of Profhilo?

Common and temporary: small raised areas at each injection point that settle within hours, redness, mild swelling, tenderness and pinpoint bruising. Less common: prolonged swelling, a lump at an injection point that takes longer to settle, and infection at an injection point. Rare but serious: vascular occlusion, where product enters or compresses a blood vessel. This can cause skin loss and, where vessels around the eye are involved, visual loss. It is a medical emergency. The warning signs are severe or increasing pain, blanching or dusky discolouration of the skin, and any change in vision. Contact the clinic immediately if any of these appear. The product is placed at defined points with a fine needle, which lowers but does not remove that risk.

  6. Who is not suitable for Profhilo?

A known allergy to hyaluronic acid excludes this treatment. An active autoimmune condition or a history of keloid scarring is discussed at assessment. The general exclusions that apply to every injectable, active infection or inflammation in the area to be treated, a bleeding or clotting disorder, and blood thinners, are set out in full on the dermal fillers page. A known allergy to any component of the product excludes it. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are contraindications.

  7. Who performs the treatment?

Every injection at Hisential is performed by an SMC-registered doctor.
