What it is
Hyperhidrosis means sweating beyond what the body needs for temperature control. Primary hyperhidrosis usually affects specific sites such as the underarms, palms or soles. Secondary hyperhidrosis is caused by something else, including thyroid problems, diabetes, infection, some medicines and, less commonly, more serious conditions.
That distinction matters, which is why this is a consultation rather than a treatment you book off a menu. Sweating that is new, one-sided, worse at night or accompanied by weight loss or fever is investigated rather than injected.
